This is the coolest indoor playground on the island and my daughter’s absolute favorite. Super modern, really safe, and packed with creative zones. There are board games, magnetic tiles, LEGO, puzzles, a selection of books, and costumes. Kids can also enjoy sensory play areas where they color water, play with magnetic sand, playdough, and try loads of other fun activities they usually don’t get to do at home (or anywhere else).

The best part: it’s always supervised by warm and attentive staff who genuinely love engaging with the little ones, not just watching from a corner. It’s close to Flo Cafe, so you can sneak off for a coffee while your kids play. We usually let our girls spend several hours here on the weekend, and they’d stay even longer if we let them. Kidomo is clean, friendly, and perfect for ages 3 to 10.

2. Fun House Samui

Opening hours:  Daily, 10:30 am-8:30 pm, closed on Mondays
Cost:  100 THB per child per hour ($2.75 / €2.50), adults free, socks needed
Location:  Fun House

A large indoor play area.

This place is a lifesaver on rainy and really hot days. A big indoor space with ball pits, slides, soft play structures, and even a fenced trampoline. There’s a dedicated toddler area too, so your little one won’t get squashed by bigger kids. Our girls LOVE it here.

I’ve got to be honest, I don’t love hanging out there while waiting. Sure, it’s clean and air-conditioned, but it’s not exactly the kind of cozy Western cafe where I’d want to chill with my laptop. But hey, that’s totally fine. There are always at least two motivated Thai staff around, keeping an eye on the kids and playing with them. So you can drop them off for an hour or two (or even three) and feel totally at ease. If anything comes up, they’ll give you a call right away.

3. Le Blocks (Chaweng & Lamai Branches)

Opening hours:  Daily 10 am-8 pm
Cost:  From 200 THB per child per hour ($5.50 / €5)
Adult fee (if supervising):  100 THB ($2.70 / €2.50)
Add-ons:  100-250 THB ($2.70-$6.80 / €2.50-€6.30)
Location Chaweng:   Big C Chaweng
Location Lamai:  Tesco Lotus Lamai

Le Blocks is an indoor LEGO-style playroom where kids can build their own creations with bricks, do fuse bead art, or try foam clay crafts. Each child gets their own table with building blocks and materials. The space is small, quiet, clean, and fully air-conditioned. It’s not a playground for running or climbing, more of a creative zone where kids can focus and actually make things. Ideal for ages 5 to 13, I’d say, though younger kids can join if a parent helps out.

Add-on activities like foam clay and bead kits cost extra.

Le Blocks is located inside Big C (Chaweng) and Tesco Lotus (Lamai), so you can drop your child off and go grocery shopping. At least that’s how I do it. Check my detailed review here.

4. UniKids

Opening hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 10 AM-6 PM
  • Friday: Closed
  • Saturday: 10 AM-6 PM
  • Sunday: 12 PM-5 PM

Stay & play (with parent): 200 THB per child per hour ($5.50 / €5), adults free
Drop-off (with nanny supervision): 300 THB per child per hour ($8.25 / €7.50)
Location:  Unikids

A room with shelves and toys.

UniKids is a lovely indoor spot for younger kids. It’s bright, clean, and filled with thoughtfully chosen play corners and beautiful wooden Montessori toys. Everything feels well-maintained and intentional, none of that battered plastic feel you get at some other places. I also love the small snack station stocked with grapes, watermelon, and water. Simple, but the kids appreciate it.

It’s located on the grounds of Big C in Chaweng, which makes it super convenient. I usually sneak off to Starbucks or do a quick grocery run while the girls play. The staff keep an eye on things, but don’t really engage with the kids, at least not during our two visits. Lila and Ruby were a bit disappointed that no one played with them. Still, it’s a reliable and easy spot to escape the heat or hide from the rain for a while.

5. Clever Kids Samui

Opening hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 9 AM-7 PM
  • Wednesday: 9 AM-12 PM & 3 PM-7 PM
  • Friday: Closed
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9 AM-7 PM

Cost:  200 THB per hour ($5.50 / €5)
Location:  Clever Kids

Clever Kids is a relaxed indoor play area in Mae Nam with gentle music, air-con, and a genuinely calm vibe. It’s not huge, but it’s clean, friendly, and great for little ones who enjoy quiet play. There’s a good variety of toys and activities on offer, plus drinks and snacks available if you need them.

The space is especially well-suited to toddlers and preschoolers up to age 5. There’s also a small upstairs area parents can use as a co-working space for 100 THB/hour, plus a mini outdoor area for when the rain takes a break.

6. Rick Tew’s NinjaGym

Opening hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:30 AM-9 PM
  • Friday: 9 AM-9 PM
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9:30 AM-9 PM

Cost:  350 THB per child for a 50-minute guided group session ($9.50 / €8.80)
Location:  Big C Chaweng

If your kid has energy to burn, NinjaGym is your place to go. It’s a huge indoor obstacle course with climbing walls, ropes, trampolines, tunnels, and all kinds of fun challenges. It’s run by Rick Tew, a martial arts coach, but don’t worry, it’s all super friendly and playful. No strict drills, just guided sessions where kids jump, balance, swing, and crawl their way through the gym like little ninjas. My girls were hooked from the first visit. After 50 minutes, they came out sweaty, proud, and holding ninja stickers like trophies.

Parents can’t go on the mats, which honestly makes it better. I get to sit down, catch up on emails, and sip my coffee while they train. There’s even a little side area with board games and video games if you want to join in the fun. Check out my NinjaGym review here.

7. Cosmos

Opening hours:  Daily 8 AM-8 PM
Cost:  190 THB per hour for the supervised playground ($5.20 / €4.80); classes cost extra
Location:  Cosmos

Cosmos is a creative community space with a small indoor play area stocked with books and Montessori-style toys. They also run movement classes for little ones on the upper floors. A sweet Thai nanny is there at all times, you give her your number and can leave the playroom for a bit without worrying.

The playroom is actually pretty small, so when I go with the girls we usually stay for just an hour or so. But it’s a nice change of scenery from the bigger playgrounds, and those opening hours, daily from 8 AM, are genuinely unbeatable on the island.

8. Candy Land at Central Festival

Opening hours:  Daily, 11 am-9 pm
Cost:  200 THB per hour per child ($5.50 / €5), adults free
Location:  Candy Land

A large indoor play area.

Right in the middle of Chaweng’s big shopping mall, this playground is a total lifesaver. It’s fully indoors (though there’s no AC, worth knowing before you go), clean, and packed with fun: slides, tunnels, and climbing structures.

We’ve used this one many times when we went shopping and the kids lost patience, or we did. You can grab a coffee or do a bit of shopping while the kids play. The nannies take them to the nearby kids’ toilet if needed, and they’ll call you when your child is done or ready to go.

9. Maya Kids Club (Maya Resort Samui)

Opening hours:  Daily, 8 am-7 pm
Cost:  Free for hotel guests, 100 THB per hour ($5.50 / €5) for outside guests
Location:  Maya Kids Club

If you’re staying at Maya Resort, their indoor kids club is such a treat. It’s small, and has no AC, but it’s well-equipped and really great for younger kids. There’s soft play, coloring, toys, and little activities throughout the day. Everything’s supervised by a kind nanny, so you can sneak off for a spa treatment or a quiet lunch without guilt.

We only stayed there once, but we’ve dropped the kids off a few times after that, even without staying overnight. The 100 THB/hour rate for outside guests is genuinely good value, especially given how attentive the staff are.

💡 Pro tip: Drop off your kids at Maya and have the best coffee on the island at Sasatorn.

10. Lite Family Space

Opening hours:  Monday-Saturday 10 am-7 pm, Sunday closed
Stay & play (with parent): 200 THB per child per hour ($5.50 / €5), adults free
Drop-off (with nanny supervision): 300 THB per child per hour ($8.25 / €7.50), 10-hour passes available
Master classes: 350-400 THB ($9.60-$11 / €8.50-€10)
Location:  Lite Family Space

Just a three-minute walk from Central Festival Mall, Lite Family Space is a cozy, creative spot perfect for little ones up to the age of 10. It’s clean, well-organized, and run by genuinely kind and motivated nannies. There are two big rooms, one with swings, a climbing wall, and soft play zones, and another full of sensory activities, wooden toys, and eco-friendly games. There’s also a small outdoor area to explore when the weather cooperates.

You can stay and relax in the seating area with a coffee from the neighbouring bakery (they’ll even deliver it to you), or drop your child off in safe hands and actually get something done.

A colorful climbing wall.

Lite also offers regular workshops and flexible playgroups, ideal for families staying longer who don’t want to commit to a full-time kindergarten. Socks are required (available for 40 THB if you forget). A genuinely great spot for rainy days or whenever the heat gets too much.

What to Do in Koh Samui When It Rains With Kids

Rainy days happen, a lot. Koh Samui gets an average of 2,000 mm of rain a year, and some months it really pours. The good news: you don’t need sunshine to keep the kids happy.

The indoor playgrounds above are the obvious first stop. But if you’ve already done the rounds, here are a few more options worth knowing:

  • Central Festival Mall, air-conditioned, with a food court, a cinema, and a small arcade. Great for a few hours when you need a change of scene.
  • Escape rooms, Escapology Koh Samui is popular with older kids and adults. Good for tweens who’ve outgrown soft play.
  • Cooking classes, some resorts run quick kids’ cooking sessions, perfect for a slow rainy morning. Ours loved making spring rolls.
  • Aquapark or water park, counterintuitive, I know. But if it’s warm rain and not a storm, the kids are already wet. Coco Splash and Pink Elephant are both options worth looking at.
  • Board game cafes, a few cozy spots in Chaweng have board games you can play over a long lunch. Lower key, but sometimes that’s exactly what everyone needs.

The honest answer: two to three hours at one of the indoor playgrounds above, followed by lunch at a mall food court, handles most rainy days just fine. We’ve survived plenty of soggy afternoons on exactly that formula.
